人类历史上的时代更迭总是伴随着世界各国间政治、经济和文化的博弈而演进的,全球化无疑是推动当今世界社会加剧冲突、融合和重构的主要动力之一。中国体育在全球化进程中扮演着重要角色,体育全球化正逐解构中国体育原有的时间和空间秩序。本书以篮球运动为例,引入美国社会学家George Ritzer的“增长全球化”与“全球本地化”理论架构全文,从历史社会学的视角,分别从治理、市场和文化三个维度探寻体育全球化进程中篮球运动在中国背景下的发展规律,并探讨全球化语境下中国本土篮球发展演变过程中所生成的“多元现代性”。
